Soprano, Amanda Williams is currently studying at Bowling Green State University for her Master's in Vocal Performance. She is there under a full-tuition scholarship and the Allen Scholarship. For her undergrad, she attended Eastern Michigan University and received her Bachelor's in Vocal Performance. At Eastern Michigan she was awarded the Gilbert Scholarship for two consecutive years. 

 

Over summer 2018, she will attend Chicago Summer Opera as Flora (Cover) in Turn of the Screw. She attended the Utah Vocal Arts academy over the summer of 2017 as Lolo in The Merry Widow. For the summer of 2016, she was given a tuition scholarship by the American Institute of Musical Studies to study in Graz, Austria.

 

During the years 2015-2016, she was a young artist with the Pittsfield Opera Theatre and sang with the Dixboro United Methodist Chancellor Choir.

 

Her awards include; 2nd Place in the Graduate Division of the Conrad Art Song Competition, the Shirley Verett Young Artist Honorable Mention from the Harold Haugh Light Opera Vocal Competition, and was Second Place in the Junior Division at the NATS Regional Competition.

 

She has performed notable roles such as; Flora in Turn of the Screw, Lady Psyche in Princess Ida, Shirley Kaplan in Street Scene, Tessa in The Gondoliers, Cecily in La Divina, Adele in Die Fledermaus, 2nd Woman in Dido and Aeneas, and more. She premiered in the first full recording of The Free Lance by Sousa with the Comic Opera Guild, playing the role of Griselda. 

 

 

She taught at the Forte Music School in Toledo, and teaches privately.
