Voice Lessons

Welcome! And thank you for your interest in taking Vocal Lessons. For many this can be a scary step, so congratulations on putting yourself out there! This will be a fun exciting adventure!

I thrive on making a fun, warm, comfortable environment for my students. This will be a place where it is okay to make mistakes, because we know they will aid us in our successes.

I do not provide a strict curriculum. Instead I form lessons based on student's needs. Things that we may explore include; warm-ups, posture, breathing techniques, tongue twisters, learning to read notation, rhythm, and anything else that may come our way.

Student's are free to work on music from any genre; from classical, to jazz, to musical theatre, to pop. The techniques we work on will help you become a stronger singer in all genres.

I recommend, for comprehension/attention, that students be at the age of 9 or older. If your child is younger and you believe they are ready, please contact me!

Lessons are offered in 1/2 hour sessions at $30 and 1 hour sessions at $45. A $5 non-refundable, place holder will be asked upon reservation. Cancellations and reschedules will not be refunded unless given notice 24 hours in advance. Please follow the link Payments/Scheduling under Lessons to schedule your first lesson!

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions!

I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Teaching Philosophy

Amanda Williams is currently studying at Bowling Green State University for her Master's in Vocal Performance. She received her Bachelor's from Eastern Michigan University. Her extensive education helps provide her students with an accurate, academic experience; from the knowledge of repertoire, to the way the body works.

Through teaching, Amanda will carry on the art of singing with proper, healthy technique.

By molding her teaching to fit each student individually, she will provide voice appropriate literature in different styles, and develop specific individual, technical goals.

Amanda prides her self on not only teaching the basics of singing, but how the body works in conjunction with it.  She strives for her students to not only know 'how' but also 'why'.

She will provide a judgment free environment, and thus giving her students confidence.  Through this confidence, they will expand on their knowledge of mental awareness, body awareness, and vocal awareness.

She will provide an encouraging environment, that will stimulate a desire for lifelong musical learning.
